As a sculptor researching relegated technologies and materials, I investigate the destructiveness of a society in difficult times. What once was considered scandalous is now commonplace. Cubicles and glass boxes are replacing architectural icons. Styrofoam is replacing marble. New and improved cigarette filters try to effectively screen out chemically enhanced tobacco. Twisting castaway eyeglasses into makeshift weapons, I attempt to focus an American societies fascination with violence. Digitally our lives are becoming virtual. Investigating these concerns within the framework of two and three-dimensional media, I search for an understanding of why society is rapidly changing its belief and ideals.
